Run Options

 

FUN 5K/1 mile fun run This event is for everyone who want to get a little exercise!  The 5K course is 3.1 mile running route that takes you along the beautiful shores of Cda Lake out toward North Idaho College and back. The 5K will be starting and finishing at McEuen Park next to the pavilion.  This is a FUN 5K meaning we won't be timing the run.  However, we will give prizes to the top 3 finishers for both male and female categories.  There will be one aid station along the course at the turn around spot near NIC. Each participant will receive a medal.  Strollers are welcome but please leave your pets at home.  Also, for safety reasons, please leave your headphones at home. The will be volunteers and bright duct tape along the course to help guide you. All ages and abilities welcome. 100% of you registration money will go toward the elementary school of your choice in School District #271. The 5K start time is 9am. The 1 mile fun run is a shorter fun run distance running/walking option for kids and parents alike. The 1 mile fun run will start at 8:30am. Prizes will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers.  

 

 

OBSTACLE RUN This is a kid-only run 2-12 yrs.) However, this year we have added a special needs wave (all ages.) The 1/3-ish mile loop will contain multiple obstacle stations. The obstacle run start and finish line is near the pavilion.  NOTE: Obstacles are geared towards elementary ages.  Depending upon the child's age, they can run between 1 and 3 laps. The run will be contained within McEuen Park for safety and visual tracking of your child. At 9:45am there will be a warm up led by Wildland Crossfit.

10:00am: 2-5 year olds/1 loop course

10:15am: 6-9 year olds/2 loop course

10:30am 10-12 year olds/3 loop course

10:45am Special Needs Wave (all ages)/1 loop course

***Feel free to place your child in the group that is most appropriate for you. Also, every special needs participant can have buddy participate with them for free.

* As a participant of the 5K or Obstacle Run, you get to CHOOSE which school receives your registration money.  You will designate which school  when you register.  100% OF THE REGISTRATION FEE WILL GO TO YOUR SCHOOL OF CHOICE !!

Other Activities

PLAY PEN In addition to the running events, we will also have an assortment of activities.  Bounce houses, face painting, lawn games, mascots, arts and crafts and more!  All 5K and obstacle course participants get FREE entry into the play pen.  If you do not wish to register for the running event(s), but still would like to play, you may purchase admission separately either online (click the 'Register button below) or at the door.  NOTE: You MUST have the provided wrist band in order to play!!!

RAFFLE The raffle serves as an additional way to raise funds.  Many generous local donors give items, money, and assorted prizes which will be raffled off.  Raffle tickets will be sold at packet pickup and at the event for $1/each or $20/25 tickets (all run participants will receive one FREE ticket in their packet).  This year there will be a few big ticket raffle items that will require "golden raffle tickets" to win which will be sold for $10/each. 100% OF PROCEEDS from ticket sales WILL BE SPLIT EQUALLY AMONG THE 11 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS in School District #271!  You will place your raffle ticket(s) in the containers for the specific prize you hope to win.  The raffle will  start at 12:15. YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN.  

Book Drive This year Run For 271 is teaming up with Jingle Books for a book drive!! We encourage all participants to donate gently used and new books. For each book donated we will give you one raffle ticket (up to 5 raffle tickets.)

ARTS + crafts tables, lawn games, kids zumba

Walmart and Kiwanis are sponsoring some awesome arts and crafts tables this year for your children to enjoy!!! Lona Garrett will be getting your kids excited to move with some kid Zumba. Don't forget there will be tons of bounce houses and face painting!
